Harry Kane told it may be too late for him to leave Tottenham Hotspur amid Bayern Munich transfer links
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gus Poyet has said that it may be too late for Harry Kane to leave Spurs now.
The striker was famously linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer of 2021, and as per Football.London, Bayern Munich have also shown interest in him in recent months.
Amidst this, Poyet believes that Kane’s chance of a big move may be behind him. He told Safe Betting Sites (h/t Football.London):
“I think it’s too late for Kane to move. I think Harry had the chance a couple of years ago when City came in for him. It is a difficult one to predict. But depending on how the player feels, there may be a moment when he decides to change teams in search of a new challenge, for titles and maybe even a new country.”
These comments don’t mean that Spurs can relax about Kane’s situation. In January 2023, his contract will have just one and a half years remaining on it.
Take Bayern for example – the team that has been linked with the England international. They signed Sadio Mane as a 30-year-old this summer, while Barcelona bought Robert Lewandowski – who is even older than the Senegal international during that window.
Age doesn’t matter when Kane is scoring goals at this rate. Cristiano Ronaldo has arguably only started to see a decline in his late 30s.
There is no reason why Kane cannot have a career as long as that. Hence, as much as we would like to think that the Tottenham superstar may have missed his chance to leave, he could still do that in the near future.

For that reason, Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy would be very wise to try and offer him a deal that he willingly accepts and that reflects his worth to the team.
