Leonardo Bonucci not inclined to join Tottenham Hotspur
According to Express, Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is absolutely not inclined to join Tottenham Hotspur and is set to prefer a stay in Turin as things stand.
The 35-year-old centre-back has a contract with the Old Lady that expires in 2024. (Transfermarkt). He has been heavily linked with a move to Hotspur Way in recent weeks but it does not seem likely.
The Italian giants have supposedly been holding contract talks with the veteran central defender for quite some time now but the two parties have been unable to reach an agreement on a new deal.
This has led to speculation over his future with Antonio Conte supposedly keen on signing the talented Italian. He may be 35, but Bonucci seems to be showing no signs of slowing down or dropping off.
What he lacks in pace, he makes up for with excellent positional awareness and defensive acumen. Even the departure of his long-time partner-in-crime Georgio Chiellini has not deterred him.
Bonucci has played 10 times for the club across all competitions this season, scoring one goal until now. He continues to be a mainstay in the struggling Juve team and looks to inspire them to a comeback.
As we have seen with Thiago Silva, you are never too old for the Premier League and the Italian can play a similar role for Tottenham like the one that the Brazilian has been playing for the Blues.
