Sporting Lisbon's Jeremiah St. Juste looks on during a training session at the Cristiano Ronaldo academy training ground.

Sporting CP could without these six players for Tottenham Hotspur clash including Jeremiah St Juste

Sporting CP could be without Luis Neto, Sebastian Coates, Pedro Goncalves, Ricardo Esgaio, Jeremiah St Juste and Daniel Braganca for their UEFA Champions League clash against Tottenham Hotspur tonight (October 26).

Apart from St Juste, the other five names are certain to miss. As per Jornal de Noticias (h/t Daily Mail), the 26-year-old defender missed his team’s last three games with an injury and only returned to training on Monday (October 24).

It remains to be seen if manager Ruben Amorim takes the risk of starting him against the Lilywhites given the importance of the match. Neto and Coates are two centre-backs already sidelined with injuries.

Goncalo Inacio and Jose Marca are two central defenders fit and in contention. Braganca, a central midfielder, is yet to feature in this campaign due to a ligament rupture. Left-winger Goncalves and right-back Esgaio are suspended after being sent off in the 2-0 loss to Olympique de Marseille.

Tottenham can’t take Sporting lightly

This makes our job easier but it, by no means, makes Sporting CP a team we can take lightly. They still have attackers capable of doing damage.

Arthur Gomes, Francisco Trincao, and Marcus Edwards have the potential to trouble our advanced full-backs out wide. At right-back, Pedro Porro is expected to start for them.

A win here will confirm qualification to the knockout for us. We currently sit first in the table with seven points from four games – one point ahead of both the Portuguese team and OM.

It’s not like we don’t have injury troubles. Manager Antonio Conte has ruled out Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison for the game in north London, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Cristian Romero are doubts.
