Harry Kane has taken a dig at Marseille fans after Tottenham Hotspur won against them
Tottenham Hotspur Harry Kane has taken a dig at the Marseille fans after his side secured a place in the Round of 16 of the Champions League in a dramatic fashion at the Stade Velodrome.
Marseille fans had awoken the players by letting off fireworks outside their hotel a night before the clash. Loud bangs were heard at 1:00 AM and 4:30 AM as the locals tried to disrupt any rest for the opposition players. (h/t Evening Standard)
Spurs went one goal down in the first half, but Clement Lenglet equalised in the 54th minute before Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg sealed all three points with the last kick of the game. After the game, this is what Kane uploaded on his Twitter:

Kane’s caption along with the whole team’s photo is a clear dig at the fans of their French opponents. Things went from bad to worse for them as they finished fourth on the table suffering elimination from all European competitions.
The England international was not the only one who took a dig at their opponents. The official account of the club also posted a tweet that simply read “BANG” after Hojbjerg’s winner.
Antonio Conte had to witness the game from the stands. The Italian received a red card during the game against Sporting Lisbon last week. He was protesting against the decision to overturn Kane’s last-minute winner and was sent off in the process.
His absence did not stop Spurs from not only winning the game but also finishing as group winners. This could prove to be an advantage as chances are high that the north London club could be handed an easy draw in the Round of 16.
