Paul Robinson makes ‘massive’ Dejan Kulusevski verdict after Tottenham return
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former English international Paul Robinson makes a massive Dejan Kulusevski verdict after the Swede winger made his Tottenham Hotspur return after an injury kept him out for a considerable while.
Kulusevski has missed a significant chunk of the season due to the injury and his return could not have come at a better time for Spurs. The talented winger had an immediate impact after coming on against Liverpool.
Minutes after coming on against the Reds, Kulusevski assisted Tottenham’s only goal of the game. It showed how much Conte’s team had missed out on the Swede and how important a player he is.
Kulusevski has played 10 times for Spurs this season across all competitions scoring once and assisting four times. His numbers would have been far better had the Swede managed to stay fit.
Kulusevski formed a fearsome front three with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min earlier in the season. In fact, it was the trio that helped Spurs get the Champions League in first place last season.
Even the arrival of Richarlison didn’t seem to deter the trio as they kept going from strength to strength. It was an utter shame that Kulusevski got injured in the absence of which Spurs might have had a better run of results.
Speaking about the player, Paul Robinson was full of praise for the 22-year-old Spurs winger and called him a huge player.
“They have massively missed him. Spurs have not been anywhere near their best in front of goal with him and Richarlison missing. They bring a lot of the goal threat. There is not as much creativity without them.Kulusevski had a huge impact off the bench at the weekend. His return to fitness is massive.”
