Antonio Conte names three Tottenham youngsters who can be future England players
Speaking in the pre-match press conference as quoted by Football. London, Antonio Conte has named three Tottenham Hotspur youngsters who are potential selections for future England teams if they continue their development in the same way.
Tottenham take on Leeds United in the Premier League tonight in what is set to be their last game ahead of the international break for the World Cup. Conte’s side will be hoping to end on a high and go into that break with confidence on their side.
Spurs sit fourth in the table behind Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle United. A victory against the Yorkshire club could just be what the Lilywhites need to put pressure on the teams on top of them.
A number of players who play for Tottenham have been selected for their national teams. Harry Kane and Eric Dier are a couple of players who have been selected to play for England in Qatar.
There are also a number of players who will remain with the club after failing to make the cut to their national teams for the World Cup. They will continue training with Conte and look to get fit for the season ahead.
Speaking about three Spurs youngsters, namely Ryan Sessegnon, Oliver Skipp and Djed Spence who have the quality to get into future England teams, Conte said
“Ryan for sure has had a big, big improvement in one year. He has found a good stability and has improved a lot and in the future for sure he can become one of the players for the future England squad now he is playing with the U21s with Spence and Skipp. For sure there is a possibility for them in the future if they continue to improve to make another step with the national team.”
There is no doubt that Ryan has been the real revelation this season. He has competed exceptionally well with Ivan Perisic and has looked like finally realising all the early potential that he was showing.
Skipp on the other hand has missed a lot of games with a freak foot injury that he suffered but he is back now and trying to dislodge a midfield of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma.
We have seen last season just how good the former Norwich City loanee can be and he will be hoping to get a much more prominent role in the second half of the season. Spence however is yet to convince Conte.
