Oliver Skipp admits to learning from Tottenham Hotspur duo Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp has admitted that he has been watching and learning from the Spurs duo of Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Skipp got off to a fantastic start last season. The 22-year-old had helped Norwich City win the Championship on loan and established himself as a first-team player under first Nuno Espirito Santos and then Antonio Conte.
However, the England Under-21 international suffered a problematic pelvic injury which made him stop and get treatment. It was during this time that Conte bought in Bentancur from Juventus.

The Englishman missed the second half of last season and was prepared to go for it again this season. But, a training ground injury again meant that the 22-year-old had to be sidelined.
He did however make use of the time on the sidelines and attended every tactical meeting of Conte, so as to be prepared when he returns. Now, the midfielder is fully fit and is fighting for a place in the starting eleven along with summer signing Yves Bissouma.
Speaking to the club’s most recent matchday programme (h/t Football. London), the 22-year-old admitted that he has been watching and learning from Bentancur and Hojbjerg.
“To be fair, those two especially have been brilliant this season. I think in the last month or so they’ve even gone on another level again, so I’m watching and learning from them, trying to take bits from their games and seeing what they’re doing well at the moment. They’re getting more goals and assists this season which they’ve added to their game, so they’ve been fantastic for us and credit to them.”
It is good to see Skipp learning from the best. The 22-year-old has only featured nine times for the club this season in all competitions. But with the hectic second half coming up, he is likely to get more game time.
