Jermaine Jenas comes up with a scathing observation of Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane

Speaking in an interview with Vibe with Five as quoted by the Mirror, Jermaine Jenas has come up with an observation of Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane which definitely will polarize opinion.

Jenas is of the opinion that Kane has never stepped up for club or country in the big moments. This comes in the aftermath of the penalty that the Tottenham striker missed for England in the game against France.

England were eventually knocked out of the game by the 2018 World Cup winners. Kane actually scored his first penalty in the game to get the Three Lions level but skied the second time around.

It was a rather ridiculous miss from a player who has been largely consistent from the spot for much of his career. Kane will be hoping to bounce back from the situation and hope for a shot at redemption.

Jenas has used the example of how Kane has always been missing in the big moments for Spurs like their Champions League semifinals against Ajax when Lucas Moura emerged as the unlikely hero.

Speaking about the incident, here is what Jermaine Jenas had to say about Kane and his absence in big games.

“I think are a problem when it comes to what he’s done in those moments. Ajax comeback – He was injured in those games and they are historically some of the biggest moments in Spurs’ history, getting to a Champions League final, performed well and scored goals, he wasn’t anywhere to be seen.”

It is true that Kane is yet to win a trophy in his career with Tottenham or England. It is something that has eluded him since he started playing and we know that he is desperate to get one soon.

That said, it is a little harsh to say that the Spurs star is always absent in the big moments. There have been times when Kane has single-handedly carried the Tottenham team and being injured is not really his fault.

Kane will be hoping to put the penalty miss behind him and get on with his career. He will get another chance to redeem himself and let’s hope the Tottenham star can take it.
