Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni and Atalanta BC’s Giorgio Scalvini
Tottenham Hotspur’s relationship of linking the club with Serie A players never truly goes out of style and the latest claim is from Italian outlet Interlive (h/t Football London) that Fabio Paratici and co are interested in two defenders from Inter Milan and Atalanta BC.
Tottenham plans to revisit their interest in Inter Milan’s rising superstar Alessandro Bastoni while also igniting interest in young central defender Giorgio Scalvini who plies his trade for Atalanta BC.
More often than not, since the appointment of Antonio Conte and Paratici, Spurs have looked to explore the Serie A market mainly due to the familiarity of the league that the two behold.
Cristian Romero, Dejna Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur are three key names who have come to England from Serie A and have established themselves as key members of the squad.
Hence, Conte and Paratici are keen to reuse the trick and find players who can fit like a glove in Conte’s style of play at Tottenham.
Bastoni certainly fits the bill as it was under Conte that the defender established himself in the first team and is very well suited to playing with three central defenders, something which is the current set-up at Spurs.
Conte and Paratici had tried to go for Paratici in the summer but were priced away from a move by Inter Milan and we ended up signing Clement Lenglet from FC Barcelona on loan with an option to buy.
Although Lenglet has been decent since his move however he has failed to truly justify the move which could lead to a permanent deal hence the club is looking at other profiles of left-footed centre-backs to fit the role.
