“In a heartbeat”- Reliable journo confirms Spurs’ interest in Juventus star

Alasdair Gold says Antonio Conte would like to sign Weston McKennie for Tottenham

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, popular journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will sign Weston McKennie ‘in a heartbeat’.

The USMNT star has been linked with a move to Tottenham for quite some time now. Conte is said to be very keen on signing the Juventus midfielder and bringing him to N17 as a midfield acquisition.

McKennie is a very talented midfielder whose time at Juventus has been kind of mixed. He has a lot of potential and has the quality to be a very important player for Tottenham. It is not a surprise that Conte wants him.

Paratici wanting to sign McKennie to Spurs is understandable. The Tottenham sporting director will know the USMNT midfielder all too well from his time at Juventus and know all that he is capable of.

McKennie showed the world what he is capable of during the World Cup in Qatar. He along with Tyler Adams ran the show in midfield for the American nation as they made an impressive run to the Round of 16.

Here is what Alasdair Gold had to say about McKennie’s Tottenham chances and also about other midfielders.

“I understand these are players that Paratici, and in some cases Conte, love. Weston McKennie. We know that Paratici adores him and would have him in a heartbeat at Spurs”

McKennie is a player that Spurs can really use. He has the quality to play in an Antonio Conte system. He is rather similar to some of the midfield options that we already have but he will be worth it.

The USMNT star is also very well know for his long throws. It is a tactic that Tottenham can look to exploit if they manage to sign McKennie. The American national team have shown how to use this to full effect.

Weston McKennie to Tottenham will not definitely be easy but it will be a signing that could be worth it. Time will tell if we will get our man.
