Inter Milan interested in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Inter Milan could swoop for Tottenham Hotspur’s talented midfielder Oliver Skipp in a bid to close the gap to their rivals for the Scudetto.
Skipp is touted to be one of the best players to come from the Academy and at 22 years of age, is touted to have the best years ahead of him.
Hence, it does come as a surprise as to why the club are willing to let go off the player whose current season has not taken full stride due to injuries.
One of the main factors behind it could be that Antonio Conte is keen to add FC Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie to the squad, with the Catalan club also keen on a deal.
Skipp to Inter not a bad deal
The only issue perspiring is that Conte’s former squad Inter Milan are also keen on adding the midfielder to their ranks, who plied his trade for their rivals AC Milan just a season ago.
Hence, there could be a conflict of interest for the player to switch allegiances which definitely favours us due to a good relationship with FC Barcelona due to the Clement Lenglet deal.
Another midfielder in the ranks could potentially see reduced game-time for Skipp which could directly impact his future at the club. But we must also keep in mind that we need at least four top midfielders at all times – and that is a minimum. If Kessie, or another midfielder doesn’t come, Skipp must stay.
Like Tottenham, Inter are keen on recruiting a central midfielder and if they are not able to land Kessie, there are many speculations that the Italian side could come in for Skipp. He has shown glimpses of his huge potential and it would be somewhat sad to see the player depart especially considering the fact he has made his way up from the Academy.

It will be interesting to see how the saga unfolds and if one transfer could start a domino effect and result in the departure of one of the club’s midfielders. Inter could be a place for him to flourish if they hand him regular opportunities.
Spurs are looking to sign Denzel Dumfries, Alessandro Bastoni, and Stefan de Vrij from the I Nerazzurri… Hopefully, Skipp potentially going to Inter makes at least signing of those three players easier for us.
