Tottenham Hotspur offered chance to sign Arsenal target Evan Ndicka by his agents
Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Arsenal transfer target and Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka, as per German outlet Frankfurter Rundschau (h/t Football.London).
The French defender, 23, is one of the promising centre-backs coming out of the Bundesliga. WhoScored rate his aerial ability and concentration as his forte – two things we can use in our backline.
Cristian Romero has been excellent but the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner with Argentina isn’t surrounded by greatness in defence. Ben Davies is a makeshift left-sided centre-back.
Eric Dier, meanwhile, is a good centre-back who does the job on most days- but that’s about it. Ndicka could be a smart addition to the team keeping the present and future in mind.
Too expensive?
Being solid at the back is an important aspect for manager Antonio Conte’s sides. He set up impressive defensive units during his time at Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan.
Hence, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Italian tactician wants world class defensive additions at Spurs as well. Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez, at least for now, aren’t that.
However, one hurdle in the race to sign Ndicka could be the demands of his agents. They want a 50million Euros package for the defender -15million Euros to be paid up front and 7million Euros in salary for five years.
Of course, there is always the scope of negotiation demands and reaching a figure suitable to everyone, but Ndicka’s demands are huge for a player who hasn’t become a household name yet.

It would be best to bring in a player who isn’t focussed on a huge payday and instead wants to join Conte’s project for what it is. Although with Conte’s own long-term future at Spurs up in the air, that is a big ask.
