Tottenham target Josko Gvardiol insistent on staying at RB Leipzig
Speaking to Sky Germany as quoted by popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Josko Gvardiol has said that he would love to stay at RB Leipzig.
Gvardiol has been linked with a Premier League move for quite some time now. Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in the talented Croatian and would love to sign him and bring him to N17.
Chelsea are also very interested in signing the player. Gvardiol is very talented and he showed the kind of quality he has got in the World Cup in Qatar where he was the best centre-back in the tournament.
The 20-year-old has been the epitome of consistency at RB Leipzig for quite some seasons now. His performances have been much appreciated by those who follow Bundesliga and the World Cup has only acted as a catalyst.
At just 20, Gvardiol is already very complete as a footballer. He plays with the maturity of someone who is 28-29 and in the prime of their career and also seems to have a very calm head over his shoulders.
Speaking about his future at the club, here is what Gvardiol had to say about what he plans to do in the future.
“My plan is that I stay here. I think everyone has seen Max Eberl’s statement. I’m okay with that”
Gvardiol is left-footed and fit seamlessly into Antonio Conte’s system. The Croatian would be perfect in the Ben Davies role at Tottenham as he would be an instant upgrade on the Welsh defender.
The Croatian also offers Conte to line up with a back-five but switch to a back-four during games, as he can easily take up the left-back role allowing someone like Ivan Perisic to actually push up and play as a winger when Tottenham are chasing games.
