Tottenham Hotspur submit verbal offer for Leandro Trossard
According to Football Insider (h/t Football. London), Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a verbal offer to Brighton & Hove Albion to sign talented Belgian forward Leandro Trossard in January.
Trossard has had a stellar campaign with the Seagulls this time around. He has been one of the best forwards in the Premier League and is one of the main reasons for Brighton’s impressive season despite a change in managers.
However, the Belgian’s contract at the South Coast club is coming to an end in the summer. He is yet to pen down a new deal and with interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, a January move could be on the cards for Trossard.
Tottenham are one of the clubs who want to sign the Belgian forward. They have apparently submitted an undisclosed verbal offer to see how much Brighton might demand and it has been turned down by the Seagulls.
Brighton find themselves 8th in the Premier League table ahead of the likes of Chelsea and one of the main reasons is Trossard. Understandably, they have no intention of letting him leave for free in January.
The Seagulls don’t seem to want to fix something that is not broken and even this means they risk letting Trossard leave for free in the summer, they know how much the 28-year-old can help them in the rest of this campaign.
Tottenham’s interest in Trossard is understandable. An exciting forward who scores goals, he would appeal to Antonio Conte due to his incredible work rate. The Italian manager loves players who can work hard for his team and the Belgian fits the bill.
Even if the Lilywhites fail to convince Brighton to sell him right now, Tottenham must be attentive about his situation in the summer. Trossard will be a great player to get and if it was on a free transfer, it would be even better.

Tottenham can be sure of one thing though. Trossard will not come without competition. It will be easy to convince him to come to N17. He is a player who will suit us and we must do all we can to get him, within our limits.
