Arsenal to rival Tottenham Hotspur for Leandro Trossard
Tottenham have been linked with a move for the talented Belgian forward for quite some time now. Trossard’s future with the Seagulls is not clear and he is set to be available on a free transfer in the summer (Transfermarkt).
Arsenal have now entered the race for the 28-year-old. However, it is being claimed that the Gunners would pursue this deal only if they fail to land Mykhaylo Mudryk who happens to be their primary target.
Trossard has emerged as an option for Tottenham due to his contract situation. He could be available for a cut-price deal in the summer should Antonio Conte decide to make him his next signing.
The Belgian has had a season to remember in the Premier League. Trossard has emerged as Brighton’s main man and has been the most inspirational player for the Seagulls on the pitch this campaign.
Initially bursting into life at the start of the season under Graham Potter, Trossard has taken his game to an all-new level under Roberto de Zerbi is arguably the first name on the team sheet these days.
A versatile forward who can play anywhere across the forward line, Trossard is a valuable addition to any manager. He also offers exceptional goalscoring ability which is an added bonus.
In fact, if Tottenham ends up signing him, there is a huge chance that Antonio Conte could look to use him as a wing-back due to his exceptional work rate. The Italian manager has done similar shifts in the past.
