Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte drops Richarlison injury update ahead of Fulham clash
Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has implied that Richarlison will not be fit to start in the Premier League clash against Fulham later today ( 23 January).
The Brazil international was sidelined from Premier League action with a hamstring injury since the 2022 FIFA World Cup before returning to the bench against Arsenal and Manchester City, where he came off in the second half of both games He was also notably absent from the team in the build-up to the event in Qatar.
It has certainly been a very long time since Tottenham fans have gotten to see Richarlison play in a Spurs for an extended period of time. He also seems to have a history of calf and knee injuries in the past.

Talking about the former Everton striker’s injury troubles, Conte confirmed that he wasn’t 100% to be able to start right now despite his cameos against Arsenal and Manchester City in our league losses earlier this month. He said (h/t Football.London):
“Richy still has to recover the best physical condition first of all. He had serious injuries and the first thought from the medical department was his recovery.”
“He’s behind in the physical aspect, he’s not 100 per cent and we have to try to bring him to the same level to the other players.”
The 25-year-old is a versatile player who can play down the middle in attack, on the flanks, as well as behind the striker. This allows us to use him in multiple positions and maintain good squad depth.
His absence will not be a big problem for us as long as Dejan Kulusevski, Son Heung-min, and Harry Kane are fit. The Sweden international has also been sidelined with an injury since the World Cup was over but he seems to be fit and firing now.
He was present alongside Son and Kane in our 4-2 loss against Manchester City and hopefully, the same attacking trio is fielded against Fulham. They can’t be taken lightly.
