(title required) Tottenham director Fabio Paratici under scrutiny for Cristian Romero deal
According to Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Fabio Paratici is coming under increased scrutiny for one particular transfer with discrepancies over the deal to bring Cristian Romero to N17 from Atalanta.
Paratici was hit with a 30-month ban by the Italian FA on Friday for his part in financial irregularities at Juve, where he worked for more than a decade and the ban is expected to extend to the UK as well.
This throws his future at the club in jeopardy. It is likely that Paratici is forced to leave his job as the director of Tottenham to serve his ban but there could be bigger implications due to the latest speculation.

It is being claimed that Paratici made Tottenham overpay to bring the talented Argentinian defender to N17 so that it would benefit his former club Juventus. Romero was a Juve player before he joined Atlanta.
Tottenham maintain that they did not overpay for Romero and that the fee they paid was worth the quality of the player they are signing. To be fair, Romero has repaid them rather well until now.
The Argentinian is an excellent centre-back who has really grown into his role at N17. Tottenham wouldn’t mind the amount they paid for him but this particular criticism against Paratici is set to be under investigation.
Paratici has been a great sporting director for Tottenham so far but the ban means he is likely to leave his role. Who Spurs replace him with remains to be seen but Spurs need to be careful with this situation.
