Pedro Porro is full of excitement in first interview as Tottenham Hotspur player
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham Hotspur’s official website, new signing Pedro Porro cannot hide his excitement after securing a move to North London from Sporting CP.
Arguably the only transfer saga along with Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea that dragged on for the entirety of the transfer window and reached a conclusion only on the very final day, Porro has been linked to Tottenham for so long.
The Portuguese club made life so difficult for Porro and Tottenham by not agreeing to sell him until the very last moment. Even after it looked like a deal had been agreed upon, Sporting CP changed their mind.
Ultimately, all is well that ends well and the 23-year-old has eventually become a Tottenham player. He is a priority signing for Spurs considering the troubles that they have faced in this region throughout this season.
The former Manchester City youth professional is not really a stranger to England but he has not played in the Premier League yet. This would be his first taste of top-flight English football and he will be hoping to ace it.
Here is what the 23-year-old Spaniard had to say after joining Tottenham on deadline day and he was understandably happy.
“I feel great about the move. I really wanted to come here. It’s unique opportunity for me and I hope everything goes well. Yes, I think it will be a very good thing for me, and that’s also why I was so struck by the prospect of playing here”
The Spaniard is a very smart piece of transfer business from Tottenham. He is undoubtedly a huge talent for the present and the future. Only time will tell how he turns out for the Lilywhites.
Antonio Conte will be happy about the fact that he has someone to call upon in the right-back role who is actually good going forward and defensively. Until now, the existing options have disappointed.
