Edouard Mendy knows Tottenham want a goalie in the summer transfer window
According to Evening Standard, Edouard Mendy who is currently out of favour at Chelsea knows that Tottenham are one of the clubs that need a goalkeeper in the summer.
Since Graham Potter became the manager of Chelsea, the English coach decided to use Kepa Arrizabalaga as the first choice between the sticks. The Spaniard has also repaid his manager’s faith so far.
Whilst Kepa was clearly a winner in this case, the person who lost out was Edouard Mendy. After such an impressive start to life at Chelsea, the Senegalese international has now become a peripheral figure.
Considering how the current situation has panned out, it will not be a surprise to see Mendy leave in the summer. One of the clubs who can profit from this is Tottenham who actually need a new goalie.
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is not having the best of times this season. The Frenchman has been a great servant for the club but age is finally catching up with the player and he does not look at his best anymore.
The Frenchman, who has been with the club since 2011, has been a consistent performer between the sticks and has won numerous accolades, including the World Cup with his country in 2018.
However, this season has been a different story for Lloris as he has struggled with form and consistency. The 35-year-old has made several costly mistakes that have resulted in goals for the opposition, leading to increased pressure on the Tottenham defence.
This has resulted in the team conceding more goals than they would have liked, and it has had a significant impact on their league standing. It’s high time they replace the World Cup winner with someone younger.
