Alasdair Gold reveals Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte was very impressed with Ryan Mason
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold, a journalist who covers Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, has recently revealed that Antonio Conte, the head coach of the club, was very impressed with Ryan Mason when he took over.
Ryan Mason is a former Tottenham player who is a part of Antonio Conte’s backroom staff. According to Gold, the players at Tottenham respect Mason a lot and his training sessions are superb and tactically intelligent.
“Ryan Mason, the players really respect him. Don’t forget, he was a caretaker manager at the age of 29. His training sessions, I’m always told, are superb, really kind of tactically intelligent, challenging sessions. Conte was a bit like okay, this lad’s got something”
Mason had taken over as the caretaker manager of Tottenham at the age of 29, and despite his young age, he has already made a big impact at the club. Although it was for a brief spell, it has not been without its merits.

Conte was not technically allowed to take early training sessions at the club because his work permit had not arrived yet. During this time, Mason was in charge of the training sessions, and it was then that Conte realized that Mason had something special.
Mason’s experience as a player and his tactical knowledge have made him a valuable asset to Tottenham. He has been able to bring his understanding of the game and his passion for coaching to the club, and his positive impact has not gone unnoticed.
The players at Tottenham respect Mason, and the coaches have been impressed with his training sessions, which are challenging and tactically intelligent. These are signs of a top manager and Mason might be just that in the future.
Antonio Conte has been in the circuit as a manager for so long. He has seen many assistant managers in the various clubs that he has been at and he knows how to identify a good manager.
If Mason indeed is as good as he is made out to be, it might not be long before he takes up a full-time role at a club where he will get a chance to showcase his abilities and prove his credentials as a manager.
