Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur make Harry Kane decision amid interest from Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur will not sell Harry Kane to a Premier League rival this summer amidst interest in the player from Manchester United.
This is according to Sky Sports, who claim that chairman Daniel Levy is hoping to reach a breakthrough in contract negotiations with the 29-year-old soon. Kane is set to leave the club as a free agent in the summer of 2024 if no new deal is agreed upon.
If the England international doesn’t sign a new deal, Levy will apparently make it very hard for any potential suitor to sign their star striker. Bayern Munich have also been linked with him in the recent past.
This is seemingly a good stance from Spurs. We cannot afford to be handed a double whammy by losing Kane and strengthening a direct Premier League rival in the process.
Kane to United? No chance
Sure, the Englishman would want to shatter Alan Shearer’s 260 Premier League goals record in the future. But we must ensure that he does it while wearing Tottenham white.
Manchester United are currently in third and above us in the table. They seem to have their midfield and defence sorted out with signings such as Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez.
If we let them have Kane as well, we could give them the missing piece of the puzzle under manager Erik ten Hag. We already have teams such as Arsenal and Manchester City to worry about while Chelsea are also strengthening at a rapid pace.

We should be talking about acquiring world-class names to strengthen the team rather than fighting tooth and nail to keep hold of our current stars. That could also play a role in convincing Kane that we are headed in the right direction.
