Tottenham Hotspur given a free run in their pursuit of Jonathan Tah
Tottenham Hotspur have been given a free run in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, as Chelsea and Manchester United appear to have stepped aside in their pursuit of the player.
According to Fabrizio Romano (h/t Football. London), the Red Devils and the Blues are not interested in Tah at the moment. Rather, the Italian journalist is not aware of interest from either club.
The 27-year-old centre-back has been in impressive form this season, making 26 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, and keeping seven clean sheets. Tah has been impressive for the German club for quite some time now.

His performances have caught the eye of many top teams and Tottenham seem to have taken the lead in securing the services of the German international. The reports suggest that the Premier League club has held talks with Leverkusen over the potential transfer.
Tah, who is under contract at the BayArena until 2025, has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now. The German defender is widely regarded as one of the most talented centre-backs in the Bundesliga.
The lack of interest from Chelsea and Manchester United has come as a surprise, as both clubs have been on the lookout for defensive reinforcements. However, it seems that Tottenham has stolen a march on their rivals.
This could be a significant transfer for the North London club, as they look to strengthen their defence ahead of next season. Tottenham manager, Antonio Conte, is known for his strong and organized defence, and the addition of Tah to his squad would be a valuable acquisition
The German international’s aerial ability and defensive prowess make him a perfect fit for Conte’s tactical style, and he would be a valuable addition to the Tottenham backline. Tah might suit the Premier League as well.
