Arsenal urged to make shock transfer for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane
Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has urged manager Mikel Arteta to make a shock move for Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane.
Chelsea and Arsenal have seen a number of players make the switch from one club to another. But when it comes to Spurs, it is very rare that a player has directly switched allegiance with a bitter London rival.
Frimpong, who was on Arsenal’s books from 2001 to 2014, said in a recent interview with Midnite (h/t Football.London):
“I would not care if a player played for Tottenham or Chelsea, if he’s going to improve Arsenal and make us a better team, I will have Kane. I’ll go and drive him to Arsenal myself!
“Kane has been the best striker in the Premier League for the last four or five seasons and he seems like a top professional. Kane is one of my favourite players to watch, he’s been very loyal to Tottenham and I’d hope when the time comes, Tottenham will be loyal to him.
Seeing Kane – arguably our best player in history – play for the Emirates outfit would be a nightmare scenario for any Spurs fan. That would also make it equally unlikely.”
While crazier things have happened in football, fans would want to believe that the England international playing for the Gunners is a situation so depressing and abhorrent that Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici pull out all stops from letting it happen.
They can’t do much if Kane becomes a free agent. The 29-year-old is in the final two seasons of his contract at N17 and could leave as a free agent at the end of next season if he doesn’t pen fresh terms.
Arsenal currently have Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. Hopefully, they remain content with that duo or target other centre-forwards instead of tracking Kane if he becomes a free agent.

And hopefully, he stays loyal to us even if he leaves the Lilywhites by not playing for a direct rival. He was with Arsenal until he was released in 2002. He has become a Spurs legend since then and would certainly understand what moving to Arsenal could do to his reputation and legacy at the club.
