Boost for Tottenham Hotspur as Manchester United shift attention from Harry Kane to Victor Osimhen
Recently, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher described Manchester United as the only realistic option for Tottenham Hotspur’s 29-year-old superstar Harry Kane if he was to leave this summer.
He made a case for why the Red Devils would be the ideal choice for the England international if he was to sever his ties with Spurs a year before his contract expired. This is why the latest on Kane’s future from Sky Italy (h/t Metro) comes as a massive boost for us.
They say that Manchester United are put off by Harry Kane’s valuation. Spurs are said to want over £100million for their star striker.
They have, hence, shifted their attention to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. The Nigeria international would cost around the same in transfer fee but at 24, he represents a chance for the Red Devils to recoup some of the money at the end of his contract at Old Trafford.
Boost for Spurs
Spurs have reason to rejoice if this is the case. They are already heavily inclined towards keeping Kane in N17 and if Manchester United are truly out of the race, then that is one big option off the Englishman’s table.
Hopefully, they sign Osimhen or someone else to bring in a centre-forward they clearly need this summer itself. This would work well for us, like the Erling Haaland to Manchester City signing.
City wanted Kane in the summer of 2021 but failed to sign him. Given the fact that they signed Haaland last summer, it left no room in their team to revisit their interest in the Tottenham frontman.
Hopefully, Kane accepts the next sound offer Daniel Levy and co. put on his table. The club wouldn’t be naive to offer a demeaning contract considering they know his status and importance.
