Rio Ferdinand says there is no chance Harry Kane leaves Tottenham for Chelsea
Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is up in the air, but Rio Ferdinand believes there is no chance that the player will leave his current club for Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The England international’s contract expires at the end of next season. It would make sense for Spurs to sell him this summer if he makes it clear that he doesn’t want to extend his deal here.
That way, we can use the funds to then sign a potential replacement, if there is any to replace a man of Kane’s capabilities. According to Ferdinand, Manchester United will make a move for the 29-year-old this summer.
However, he has vehemently claimed that Chelsea will not be the team that he joins. He said on the FIVE (h/t Daily Mail):
“…there is a chance to come here now, to Man United. Man United are going for Kane. I reckon Chelsea this summer go for Osimhen’, he said. ‘Harry Kane isn’t going to Chelsea from Spurs, no chance.”
Spurs fans would be least bothered what Chelsea do to solve their striker problems as long as it doesn’t involve Harry Kane. Ferdinand makes sense.
Both Manchester United and Chelsea are in need of a new striker. The Red Devils saw Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo leave last year and didn’t sign a replacement.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have sidelined Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the first-team picture to a great extent while Armando Broja is yet to mature into a quality centre-forward. Kai Havertz plays as a false nine for them on most occasions.
Daniel Levy would know better than to sell Kane to either of these teams and strengthen them at Spurs’ expense. A player like Harry Kane can be the difference between them not winning and winning trophies. It’s as simple as that.

It has also been claimed that Manchester United don’t want to spend a nine-figure sum to sign Kane, which has instead shifted their attention to Victor Osimhen. Good news all around! All that remains is for the Englishman to pen fresh terms in N17.
