Spurs News: Tottenham interested in signing Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Manchester United loanee and Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson, as per ESPN.

The 26-year-old had to join the Tricky Trees last summer in a bid for added playing time given David de Gea’s presence at the club. If the Spaniard stays beyond the summer, Henderson could have to take a tough decision regarding his future.

Spurs would also be desperately looking for a suitable option to replace 36-year-old Hugo Lloris in the long run. The Frenchman is at the dusk of his career and needs someone who can take over the mantle from him.

On paper, this move would make perfect sense. Henderson would want playing time and we can give that to him once Lloris goes.

A smart option

Even if he is here, we can always relegate the former Olympique Lyonnais man to the bench. Henderson, 26, is in the prime years of his career and has already amassed respectable experience at Forest and Sheffield United during his loan spells.

Manchester United are also apparently interested in Harry Kane, with Spurs wanting at least 100million Pounds for him. It is claimed that Spurs could be more open to United’s interest in Kane given their own interest in Henderson.

Hopefully, this isn’t the case. It would be a massive, massive failure on the club’s part if they fail to retain Kane this summer. We must sign players to strengthen us in positions that need strengthening.

The frontline shouldn’t be something we should be worrying about when we are already in need of world-class defenders, a goalkeeper, and perhaps another midfielder for some quality depth.
