Report highlights three training complaints Tottenham Hotspur squad have with Antonio Conte

According to the Athletic (Subscription Required), some players at Tottenham Hotspur have three complaints with regard to manager Antonio Conte’s regime.

Firstly, there is a growing feeling among them that they would want to play in a more free, flexible system as compared to the rigid 3-4-3 formation he deploys. This is, of course, a system he perfects on the training ground before implementing them in matches.

Spurs players could, hence, be wanting to train in a freer system, which would result in a similar change in competitive games. Secondly, some Spurs players are frustrated with Conte’s repetitive and mundane training regime.

Some are even said to be bored by the predictable and intense exercises. Lastly, Conte’s tendency to give very little notice before holding training sessions has also frustrated players and staff members alike for obvious reasons.

Conte out of Spurs?

Conte doesn’t stay at clubs for long. Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan all saw him leave pretty soon after he took charge and Spurs could be no different.

The aforementioned points showcase that Spurs players are perhaps losing their enthusiasm and motivation to work under a proven winner in Antonio Conte. If this translates to a sour feeling among them for the Italian tactician, then it could have a negative impact on the dressing room.

That is something we may not have to worry about. Conte’s sacking or departure, whatever we may call it, could be neigh. He has publicly called out Tottenham for being beneath his level far too often.

It’s time Daniel Levy and co. find a manager who respects this institution, knows its limitations, and is committed to the project from day 1. Moreover, we should be in for a manager who isn’t frustrated easily by a lack of early results on the pitch.
