Tottenham Hotspur star Bryan Gil leaves Spain squad due to muscle injury
Spanish Football Federation have confirmed that Tottenham star Bryan Gil has left the national team squad after suffering a muscle injury in training.
Gil was a part of Luis de la Fuente’s first squad as Spain’s national team manager. However, as luck may have it, the Tottenham youngster has injured himself and will not be available for selection.
The Spanish winger had been loaned out to Sevilla in January after he was struggling to get regular game time at Tottenham. Gil has really settled in well upon his return to La Liga and is having a good time there, at least until now!
It would be devastating for him now though, having suffered the injury. Gil will be hoping that it is not serious. The talented Spaniard needs to make the most of his loan spell and he needs to be fit for that.
Gil has played seven La Liga games for Sevilla since his loan move to the club scoring one goal and providing one assist until now. His impact on the club has been much higher though, and stats don’t reveal that.
The Spaniard has always been regarded as a prodigiously talented player in La Liga and he still commands that kind of stature in that league. Gil’s good performances have rightfully earned him a national team call-up.
Let’s not forget that just before he was loaned out, Gil was having his best period in a Tottenham shirt. Injuries helped him get a regular run out in the team but he knew he’d not get much game time once Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison returned.
The Tottenham loanee will be hoping to have a good time until his loan spell ends. After that, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Tottenham and the player. Does the club envision a future for him?
