Tottenham Hotspur missed out on a chance to hire Thomas Tuchel
According to Evening Standard, Bayern Munich acted quickly to sack Julien Nagelsmann and hire Thomas Tuchel sensing that Tottenham Hotspur were planning an imminent move for the former Chelsea manager.
In what was one of the most shocking stories to break out in football last week, Bayern Munich sacked their manager Nagelsmann and appointed Thomas Tuchel to lead them as they look to win the treble this season.
It was a genuinely shocking decision considering that the former RB Leipzig manager had been doing a pretty decent job with the Bavarian giants and no one really envisioned this sack coming midseason.
After all, topping a Champions League group that had Barcelona and Inter Milan with a perfect win record and beating PSG in the Round of 16 in both legs is expected to win any manager some goodwill. Bayern thought otherwise though.
The German giants realised that Tuchel might not be in the market for too long with Tottenham planning a move for the manager. They acted quickly and made sure that they brought the German boss home.
Speaking after his appointment, Tuchel himself admitted that he had no idea the call was coming and that it was all too sudden.
“Things went quickly. The timing was surprising, I didn’t expect it and there was no contact beforehand. I assumed that I would continue my career abroad”
As fate may have it, the man that Bayern sacked – Julien Nagelsmann is now the favourite to replace Antonio Conte at Tottenham. We are on the lookout for a new manager as well and the former Bayern man is said to have a great chance.
If a perfect Champions League record warrants a sacking, then it’s high time Tottenham parted ways with Conte. Nagelsmann will be a great manager to lead this club forward and he will change the identity of this club.

Nagelsmann is someone who plays attacking and attractive football. It’ll be a great joy to watch Tottenham play like that. Let’s see if that actually happens. Bayern’s apparent rush to fire Nagelsmann and hire Tuchel could now actually work in our favour if the former is really wanted by our hierarchy.
