Tottenham Hotspur target Josko Gvardiol opens up about his future plans
Speaking to Net HR as quoted by popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur target Josko Gvardiol has opened up on his future plans ahead of an exciting summer.
Gvardiol has been linked with a move to Tottenham for quite some time now. The impressive Croatian defender is said to be on the radar of the club. RB Leipzig however have no intention of selling him.
Gvardiol is one of the most sought-after young defenders in the world. The Croatian centre-back caught the eye with his performances at the World Cup where he was simply magnificent and had a great tournament.
The 21-year-old has also been very consistent for RB Leipzig over the years. The talented defender has been one of the top performers in the Bundesliga and unsurprisingly is on the radar of top clubs around the world.
One more club interested in the young defender is said to be Manchester City. Pep Guardiola is apparently a huge fan of the player, and there is a chance that the Spanish tactician wants him in Etihad.
When asked about what Pep told him after the cityzen’s Champions League clash against Leipzig, here is what Gvardiol said.
“I congratulated Pep Guardiola — he threw a few words at me. But I will keep them to myself. My future? RB Leipzig is not interested in selling me this summer, there is no point in talking about anything else”
Despite RB Leipzig’s reluctance to sell the player, the right offer might mean that the German club does not resist. After all, they know that they can get huge money for the young Croatian defender.
Leipzig has always been a club that has acted as a stepping stone for top-quality talents. The likes of Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate have emerged from the club and gone to make it big and Gvardiol might be the next one.
