Inter Milan could sell Tottenham Hotspur target Lautaro Martinez without Champions League football
Serie A giants Inter Milan could sell Tottenham Hotspur target Lautaro Martinez if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, according to Gazzetta dello Sport via Calciomercatoweb.
The Nerazzurri’s president Steven Zhang will not be a happy camper if the Italian outfit cannot attain a spot in the UCL for the upcoming campaign. If that were to happen, the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side would be willing to part ways with some of their stars.
Martinez is one of Inter’s sellable assets. The Argentina international’s current contract with the Serie A giants expires in the summer of 2026. Simone Inzaghi’s team expect to get €80–90 million for him.
However, apart from Spurs, several other top teams around Europe are eyeing the 25-year-old. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have the striker on their radar.
Martinez signed for the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2018 from Racing Club. Since then, he has been a key player for the Milan-based club and has developed into a quality striker.
For now, Inter are in a tight race for a top-four spot. They have lost four of their last five matches in the league. The Serie A giants are also in the quarter-finals of the UCL, where they will face SL Benfica.
Tottenham’s forward line at the moment is stacked. Harry Kane has once again led the line for the North London side. Unfortunately, the 29-year-old’s future at the club is uncertain right now.
In the summer of 2022, we signed Richarlison from Everton to offer cover for the England international. However, the Brazil international has been underwhelming since his move to Spurs. Other forwards like Son Heun-min and Dejan Kulusevski have also not contributed enough in the current campaign.

Therefore, if Tottenham lose their star forward in the coming months, a quality striker will evidently be the need of the hour. Martinez has been prolific at Inter for some time now. Thus, the Argentine looks like a decent option to have on our radar.
