Tottenham Hotspur exploring move for Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga

According to Defensa Central, Tottenham Hotspur are exploring a move for talented French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid.

Despite showing plenty of promise since his switch from Rennes in 2021, Camavinga has not been a mainstay in the Real Madrid midfield this season, having started just over half of the club’s league matches.

However, Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, has made it clear that he has no intention of letting the midfielder leave. Perez has allegedly told intermediaries who work around the club that he would not even sell Camavinga for an offer of €200m.

The reason for this is that the Madrid hierarchy believe that Camavinga can go on to make history at the club. Thus, Tottenham’s interest could fall on deaf ears and the player might be in Madrid as things stand.

However, it is important to note that Spurs have also been left woefully exposed in the middle of the park without Benatuncur. While we have some talented players in this position, none of them have the same level of quality and experience as the Uruguayan.

As such, a move for a player like Camavinga would make a lot of sense for Spurs. He is young, talented, and has already shown that he can perform at the highest level. While he may not be available for transfer this summer, it is clear that the club needs to be exploring all options when it comes to strengthening our midfield.

Getting any other midfielder of Camavinga’s quality will be expensive as well. However, given the importance of this position and the fact that we have been lacking in this area for some time now, it is a risk that we may need to take.

We have fallen behind our rivals in recent years, and we need to start catching up if we are to challenge for major honours. Signing a world-class midfielder is an absolute necessity in the summer.

Who we go for remains to be seen. Camavinga seems to be out of our reach, but there are other players who we can target.
