Harry Kane ‘open’ to leaving Tottenham Hotspur on free transfer
Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is ‘open’ to running down his contract at the club and leaving on a free transfer, according to The Telegraph (Subscriptions Required).
The England international’s existing deal with the North London side is set to expire in the summer of 2024. However, as things stand, there are doubts over whether the striker will extend his stay at Spurs.
Premier League rivals Manchester United are interested in acquiring the 29-year-old’s services in the upcoming transfer window. However, it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy will let him leave.
Kane made a name for himself during the 2014/15 season and has not looked back since. Over the years, the forward has developed into one of the best players in the world.
At Tottenham, the English skipper’s prolificity has seen him break Jimmy Greaves’ goalscoring record. The 29-year-old is now Spurs’ all-time top scorer. He has also achieved the same feat with the Three Lions.
Unfortunately, while Kane has many individual accolades to his name, team trophies have eluded him at the North London side. The 29-year-old has been our only reliable attacker this season.
Antonio Conte’s arrival gave hope in our bid to end our silverware drought. But the Italian was unable to do so. Currently, Ryan Mason has taken interim charge of the team after the dismissal of Conte and Cristian Stellini.
Tottenham signed Richarlison last summer. The Brazilian’s arrival was seen as a way to reduce the burden on the English skipper up front. However, the former Everton forward has failed to live up to the expectations so far.

It would not be a surprise to see Kane leave us in the coming months. Spurs are evidently a better team with the striker. But it would be remiss of Levy not to cash in on the 29-year-old if he does end up leaving for free in 2024.
