Ciro Venerato says Napoli will sign Tanguy Ndombele only if this happens
Speaking to 1 Station Radio, Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has made some interesting comments regarding Napoli’s potential move for Tanguy Ndombele.
The French midfielder has been on loan at the Italian club this season, and while he has not started many games, he has shown glimpses of his talent off the bench. He has had patches where he has really impressed.
Venerato has suggested that Napoli might only make a move for Ndombele if they can raise some money through the sale of striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian is one of the most wanted strikers in the world.
The sale of Victor Osimhen would give Napoli the funds they need to invest in other areas of the squad, including the midfield where Ndombele could be a target. However, if Osimhen were to stay, Napoli’s financial situation would be less strong, and they might have to look for other, more affordable options.
It’s clear that Tottenham would like to move on from Ndombele, who has struggled to adapt to the Premier League since his move from Lyon in 2019. There have been reports that Spurs would be willing to pay off his contract in order to get him off their books.
If Ndombele were to leave Tottenham, it’s likely that he would attract interest from other top clubs in Europe. Roma and Juventus have both been mentioned as potential suitors, and they would be able to sign him on a free transfer if he were to leave Spurs without a fee.
It’s clear that Ndombele has the potential to be a top-class midfielder, but he has yet to consistently show that ability on the pitch. If he were to move to Napoli, he would have the opportunity to work with a top coach in Luciano Spaletti.
It remains to be seen whether Napoli will be able to raise the funds they need to sign Ndombele this summer. If they do, he could be a key player for them in the coming seasons. However, if they can’t afford him, we have to look at other options to sell him.
