Tottenham forward Lucas Moura is on Newcastle United’s radar
According to Torcedores, Premier League side Newcastle United are looking at the option of signing exit-bound Tottenham star Lucas Moura.
The 30-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and it seems unlikely that he will renew his contract with the Spurs, having fallen down the pecking order this season. He is expected to be a free agent in the summer.
It is clear that Moura needs regular playing time at this stage of his career, and staying at Tottenham would not make sense for him. This is why a move to Newcastle could prove to be a good option for the Brazilian, who still has a lot to offer at the highest level of football.
The Magpies are not the only club interested in Lucas Moura, as Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also reportedly contacted the player about a potential summer transfer. However, Newcastle could be the most attractive option for the Brazilian.
Moura has the technical ability to play in multiple roles, and his versatility would be an added bonus for Newcastle. He can play anywhere across the front three as well as a central attacking midfielder.
Moura has been a useful player for Tottenham over the years, and he was a key member of the side that reached the finals of the UEFA Champions League under Mauricio Pochettino a few years ago.
His creativity, flair, and goals could be a real asset for Newcastle, who will need a deeper squad to compete in the Premier League and potentially the Champions League if they finish in the top four.
Signing Moura on a free transfer could prove to be a wise decision for Newcastle. The talented forward has not really had the best of times recently. He could be a squad player for the Magpies and prove his worth.
