On-loan Tottenham Hotspur forward Dejan Kulusevski expected to return to Juventus
Dejan Kulusevski, who is on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from Juventus, is expected to return to Juventus in the upcoming transfer window, according to Il Corriere dello Sport via Tuttomercatoweb.
The Sweden international joined the North London side on a temporary move in January 2022 from the Old Lady. At that time, the deal included a €35 million buy clause for the Lilywhites.
However, it looks like Spurs will not sign the 23-year-old on a permanent basis ahead of next summer. As a result, the forward will be back in Turin in the coming months.
Juventus have a number of players on loan at other English clubs. Weston McKennie is at Leeds United, Denis Zakaria at our London rivals Chelsea and Arthur at Liverpool. However, all of them will probably return to their parent club.
Kulusevski has been electric at times at Tottenham since his arrival last year. The Swedish national’s addition last season added energy to our forward line, resulting in us attaining a top-four berth.
Antonio Conte seemed to trust the winger during his time in Spurs’ dugout. However, injury issues in the current campaign have hampered the 23-year-old’s game time at the club.
As such, Kulusevski has been unable to replicate his initial form at the North London side in the 2022/23 term. In 35 appearances in all competitions this season, the Sweden international has found the back of the net just twice.
Tottenham have had to rely on Harry Kane to find the back of the net consistently in the current campaign. Other forwards like Son Heung-min and Richarlison have been underwhelming.
