Tottenham Hotspur-linked Wilfried Zaha offered massive new contract by Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have offered Wilfried Zaha a record-breaking contract to convince him to stay amidst links to Tottenham Hotspur, according to talkSPORT (h/t football.london).
The Ivory Coast international existing deal is set to expire at the end of the season. As such, the forward will be available on a free transfer if he opts against putting pen to part on fresh terms at the Selhurst Park side.
However, the Eagles are pulling all stops to keep a hold of the 30-year-old. They are willing to pay him £200,000 per week. If the winger accepts, it will make him the highest-paid player in the South London-based club’s history.
Zaha made his way through the youth ranks at Palace. Subsequently, after impressing at the Selhurst Park side, Manchester United came calling for the forward’s signature in the summer of 2013.
However, after failing to make a mark at the Old Trafford side, the 30-year-old returned to the Eagles. Over the years, the Ivorian has developed into one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League.
In the last several seasons, Zaha has been the South London-based club’s talisman. Once again, in the current campaign, the 30-year-old has been their creative outlet in the final third.
Tottenham have an abundance of talent up front. However, apart from Harry Kane, none of our attackers has lived up to expectations in the 2022/23 term.
Son Heung-min has gone off the boil. Richarlison’s move from Everton has not paid off as of yet. However, the Brazilian has been unlucky on a number of occasions this season. We also have Dejan Kulusevski and Arnaut Danjuma in our ranks for now.
