Arne Slot tipped to sign Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu at Tottenham Hotspur
Potential new Tottenham Hotspur manager Arne Slot has been tipped to bring Feyenoord captain Orkun Kokcu with him to North London next summer.
The Dutch manager has given the go-ahead to take charge of Spurs ahead of the upcoming campaign. If the 44-year-old does make the move to the Lilywhites, the Turkish midfielder could follow him.
“I think he [Slot] will bring in one player in particular and that is the captain Orkun Kokcu, a Turkish international, and only 22 years of age.”
The Dutch manager has done a tremendous job at the Rotterdam-based club over the last two seasons. In the previous campaign, they made it to the Europa League final and have now won the Eredivisie.
Kokcu has been pivotal to the 44-year-old’s plans at Feyenoord. The youngster made his way through the youth ranks at the Dutch side and has become a pivotal player for them over the previous two campaigns.
The Turkey international is a versatile player capable of playing as a box-to-box midfielder or a number 10. In 45 appearances in this term, the 22-year-old has found the back of the net 12 times and has provided five assists.
Tottenham’s engine room seemingly lacks creativity. The likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp leave a lot to be desired in the final third of the pitch.
Rodrigo Bentancur had been our creative outlet in the middle of the park. Unfortunately, a few months back, the Uruguay international picked up an injury and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
