Di Marzio confirms Tottenham are eyeing Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano

Speaking to Fiorentina News, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Tottenham are eyeing Vincenzo Italiano as a managerial option.

Di Marzio swiftly dismissed rumours of a €10 million release clause in Italiano’s contract, clarifying that no such clause exists for him to depart from Fiorentina. However, he did confirm the club’s interest in him.

Italiano has been at the helm of Fiorentina since 2021, and his contract binds him to the club until June 2024. Under his guidance, Fiorentina has achieved commendable success, establishing themselves as a top-half Serie A team.

The team’s remarkable journey this season has seen them reach two cup finals. While they, unfortunately, fell short against Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia final, they still have a chance to clinch the UEFA Conference League title if they can overcome West Ham United in the upcoming final.

Tottenham, on the other hand, finds itself in a state of uncertainty after withdrawing from negotiations with Arne Slot of Feyenoord. Disagreements over release clauses derailed the potential deal, leaving the club in search of a new managerial figurehead.

Alongside Vincenzo Italiano, other notable names have been linked to the Tottenham hot seat today. Brendan Rodgers, who has experienced success with Leicester City, and Ange Postecoglou, the current coach of Celtic, are reportedly in the mix for the position.

With the managerial position still vacant, Tottenham finds itself at a critical juncture. It is imperative that they meticulously assess their options and select the most suitable candidate to spearhead the club’s future endeavours.

Italiano’s track record is impressive, and his achievements have rightfully attracted interest from major clubs. His tenure at Fiorentina has witnessed significant growth and success, establishing him as a capable leader.
