Leicester ‘hope’ Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal enter bidding war for James Maddison
Leicester City star James Maddison is believed to be on the radars of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
The English midfielder saw his team relegated to the Champions League on gameweek 38 of the recently-concluded Premier League season. He is one of their best players.
Maddison’s passing, dribbling and intelligence in the final third make him an asset for any team to have. He can play as a No. 10, in central midfield and out wide.
According to the Mirror, Maddison could go for around 40 million Pounds and the Foxes are hoping that his suitors start a bidding war for him this summer. They are likely to value him at 50 million Pounds+.
Spurs have to win the race for Maddison
A player of his ilk doesn’t belong in the Championship in all honesty. Moreover, at 26, he is very much in his prime years and would want to make the most of it.
It is true that Arsenal and Newcastle United offer him UEFA Champions League football next season while we don’t. But there is a strong case to be made that we desperately lack a player of his profile.
Hence, he may not struggle a lot for playing time if he moves to N17 and could make himself one of our most important players. Our midfield is screaming for a creative playmaker.
A bidding war would obviously be detrimental to us because who wants to spend extra money for a player they could have gotten for less otherwise. But Leicester’s relegation has put him on the radars of many PL clubs.
