Harry Kane to run down Tottenham Hotspur contract if Manchester United move denied
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will opt to run down his contract at the North London side if he is not allowed to join Manchester United next summer, according to The Sun.
The England international’s existing deal at the Lilywhites is set to expire in the summer of 2024. A move to the Old Trafford side is the only one that the 29-year-old sees as viable due to the rivalry against Chelsea and Arsenal.
While Tottenham are willing to listen to a proposal from abroad for Kane, with giants like Bayern Munich interested, the striker does not want to leave the Premier League. The English skipper is just 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer’s goal record in the English top flight.
The 29-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at the North London side. After a few underwhelming loan spells, the forward broke onto the scene in the 2014/15 season under Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine gaffer managed to get the best out of Kane. Since then, he has not looked back and has consistently performed for Spurs.
In the current campaign, the England international has once again led the team from the front. Unfortunately, the supporting cast has failed to contribute alongside the 29-year-old in the attack.

Since Pochettino’s departure, there has been a revolving door policy regarding managers at Tottenham. We have appointed the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, who have the pedigree of winning titles. But our trophy drought has continued into its 14th year.

Therefore, it is understandable that Kane is eyeing a move away from Spurs. We will not be playing in any European competition next season. Will Daniel Levy and co. sell the English skipper in the coming months or lose him for free? Only time will tell.
