Journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon says Carlo Ancelotti wants Tottenham striker Richarlison
Speaking on his Youtube Channel, Journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon says Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur stars Richarlison and Harry Kane.
With just one year left on his contract and no signs of an extension, it seems increasingly likely that Kane may depart during the upcoming transfer window. While Manchester United has emerged as a strong contender for his signature, the Spanish club have emerged out of nowhere in recent weeks.
However, it appears that Ancelotti’s ambitions extend beyond just Kane. Journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon has revealed on YouTube that the Real Madrid boss also has a keen interest in Tottenham’s Brazilian striker, Richarlison.
Ancelotti previously worked with Richarlison during his tenure at Everton, and he highly values the player’s abilities. One advantage Ancelotti sees in Richarlison is their prior working relationship and familiarity with the player’s performances during their time together at Everton.
Richarlison averaged an impressive 12-13 goals per Premier League season while at Everton, and even though not all were under Ancelotti’s stewardship, the Italian coach knows what the Brazilian forward is capable of.
Another factor that makes Richarlison an appealing option for Ancelotti is his price tag. De Mon mentions that the Brazilian could be acquired for a relatively modest fee of €40-45m, especially considering his status as a regular substitute at Tottenham this season.
Speaking about the situation, here is what De Mon had to say about Ancelotti wanting Richarlison
“Ancelotti’s preferences in case Benzema leaves, well, I’m told they are Richarlison and Harry Kane. This is information, not my opinion, at least as far as Richarlison is concerned. In the case of Richarlison, one of the advantages he sees is that he is 26 years old and is a player he knows well because he was with him at Everton, where he performed quite well”
However, it’s important to note that Richarlison’s current campaign with Tottenham has been underwhelming in terms of goalscoring, with just one Premier League goal and two Champions League goals.
