Real Madrid plan €15m salary offer to lure Tottenham star Harry Kane
According to Spanish publication Cadena Ser, Real Madrid’s quest for a competent replacement for Karim Benzema has led them to set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur’s star striker, Harry Kane.
Tottenham Hotspur, however, have placed a hefty price tag of approximately €115 million on their skipper, a figure that Madrid is unwilling to match. However, Los Blancos have another idea to pull this off.
Real Madrid are considering a cash-plus-player deal, which could see talented left-back Ferland Mendy moving to North London. Mendy, valued at around €35 million, has been put on the transfer list due to recurring injury concerns that have frustrated the Madrid hierarchy.
The return of Fran Garcia after an impressive loan spell at Rayo Vallecano is also on the cards. This means that the Spanish giants are in a position where they can afford to try and offload Mendy.
By including the French full-back in the deal, Madrid aims to reduce the financial burden of acquiring Harry Kane while bolstering Tottenham’s defensive options. However, no player would help alleviate the loss of Spurs losing Kane.
In their pursuit of the prolific striker, Real Madrid has already reached out to Kane’s brother and agent, Charlie. Their intention is to present the 29-year-old with a lucrative three-year contract worth an impressive €15 million per season.
For Tottenham, the potential departure of their captain and talisman would undoubtedly be a significant loss. Kane’s impact on the club has been immense, with his remarkable goal-scoring record.
Although playing for Real Madrid could be a dream for any player, Harry Kane might want to stay in England. He will have one eye on Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record and leaving for Madrid might cost him that.
