Matt Law names two positions Postecoglou wants to reinforce at Tottenham

According to journalist Matt Law, Tottenham Hotspur have already identified their first two positions to reinforce for the upcoming summer transfer window.

After an extensive search for a new permanent manager, Tottenham finally appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach. The Australian tactician impressed during his time at Celtic, securing an impressive five trophies in just two years, including a domestic treble this season.

With Postecoglou at the helm, the club is gearing up for a significant squad overhaul in the summer. As they aim to revitalize their team, Tottenham are set to bid farewell to a number of players while welcoming fresh faces into the squad.

Law, a reliable source of information, recently revealed on the Last Word On Spurs podcast that Spurs are targeting two key positions early in the summer transfer window: goalkeeper and centre-back.

In an interview on the podcast, Law shared,

“I know for a fact that people have been informed about Tottenham’s intentions to address two pivotal positions this summer – the goalkeeper and the center-back.”

Long-serving Tottenham captain, Hugo Lloris, has dropped hints about his departure from the club this summer. With his contract expiring next year, the Frenchman has expressed the possibility of returning to his hometown club, Nice.

Additionally, Tottenham have reportedly been open to selling Lloris following a disappointing season. Several candidates, including Brentford’s David Raya, Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, and Everton’s Jordan Pickford, have been linked as potential replacements.

Of these options, Pickford appears to be the frontrunner for the goalkeeper position. The National team’s number one is obviously a talented keeper who can really establish himself at the club.

Tottenham also need a centre-back but not as much as they need a goalie. They first need to get their goalie sorted before moving on to other targets.
