Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Borna Sosa set to leave Stuttgart in the summer
According to German outlet BILD (via Buli News), Tottenham target Borna Sosa is on the verge of bidding farewell to Stuttgart, with strong indications that the Croatian left-back will be leaving the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Premier League is the next destination on Sosa’s radar, with Tottenham, Newcastle, and West Ham expressing their interest in securing his services. Christian Falk has confirmed Sosa’s potential move to Spurs.
Falk shared his insights on the matter, stating
“Tottenham’s interest in Borna Sosa has been widely reported, and there are ongoing discussions between his new management and the club. Given the relatively modest cost associated with acquiring him, it is highly likely that this deal could materialize in the summer.”
However, Tottenham’s failure to secure a European spot for next season poses a significant hurdle in their pursuit of Sosa. In fact, this could be one of the main reasons why the club misses out on a lot of their transfer targets.
Sosa has also been vocal about his dream of gracing the Premier League, widely regarded as the most competitive league in the world. He recognizes the strength of not only the established big six clubs but also the other formidable teams in the league.
This desire to play in England’s top flight opens up the possibility of a move to Tottenham, despite their European absence, but it increases the likelihood of him joining Newcastle, who could offer him the opportunity to play European football next season.
With 113 appearances for Stuttgart, Sosa has showcased his abilities, contributing 5 goals and providing 35 assists across various competitions. Although Tottenham already have Destiny Udogie in the left-back position, they need reinforcements.
Sosa’s decision will ultimately hinge on whether he prioritizes the chance to play in Europe immediately or if he believes in Tottenham’s potential to bounce back swiftly. He would be a great addition to our squad.
