Sam Allardyce backs Tottenham Hotspur to sign Leicester City’s James Maddison
Sam Allardyce, the renowned football manager, has thrown his support behind Tottenham Hotspur’s potential move for Leicester City’s attacking midfielder, James Maddison.
Maddison’s transfer to Spurs has been circulating since last summer, with the North London club displaying initial interest. However, the high asking price set by Leicester City proved to be a stumbling block back then.
Now, with Leicester City facing relegation, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has the opportunity to negotiate a more favourable deal for the talented midfielder. Allardyce believes that Levy would be eagerly anticipating the chance to secure a bargain acquisition in Maddison.
In an interview with the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Allardyce expressed his conviction that Maddison’s next move will be to Tottenham. He called it “a lovely Daniel Levy deal”
“Tottenham! It’s a lovely Daniel deal that one, isn’t it?! He will be rubbing his hands. Keep him fit and he improves Tottenham.”
Allardyce emphasized the positive impact Maddison could have on the club, asserting that the midfielder’s presence would undoubtedly enhance Tottenham’s performance, provided he remains fit.
While Maddison’s destination is yet to be confirmed, the likelihood of him joining Tottenham has gained substantial momentum. Levy and the entire club are undoubtedly eager to bolster their squad with the addition of this highly talented midfielder.
The opportunity to secure James Maddison at a potentially reduced price due to Leicester City’s relegation will undoubtedly pique Tottenham’s interest. The talent that the English international has needs no introduction.
However, Tottenham face fierce competition from Newcastle United, who have also expressed their desire to secure Maddison’s services. Last summer, Newcastle made two bids for the midfielder, both of which were rejected by Leicester City.
