Tottenham are looking to beat Barcelona and Bayern Munich to Sofyan Amrabat
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to beat Barcelona and Bayern Munich to sign the talented Sofyan Amrabat this summer.
The midfielder’s impressive performances in the FIFA World Cup 2022 have not gone unnoticed, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich also expressing interest in securing his services. However, they are not the only clubs.
Sofyan Amrabat, 26, showcased his talent and skill on the global stage, playing a pivotal role in helping Morocco reach the semifinals. His commanding presence in midfield and ability to break up opposition play have made him a highly sought-after player.
For Tottenham, the potential acquisition of Amrabat could be a game-changer. The North London club are eager to bolster their squad with more physicality and defensive solidity and the Moroccan fits the bill perfectly.
Amrabat’s tough-tackling style and tenacity would undoubtedly bring a new dimension to their midfield, providing the team with the much-needed steel required to compete at the highest level.
Interestingly, Barcelona sees Amrabat as an economical alternative to the seasoned veteran Sergio Busquets. The Catalan giants are reportedly keen on securing the Moroccan’s signature this summer.
However, Tottenham is making a concerted effort to outmanoeuvre their competitors and secure a deal for the highly-rated midfielder. With the necessary funds at their disposal, it will be intriguing to see if they can outbid both Bayern Munich and Barcelona for Amrabat’s signature.
One potential stumbling block for Tottenham is their inability to offer Champions League football next season. Both Bayern Munich and Barcelona have secured qualification for the prestigious competition, making them more enticing destinations for the ambitious Moroccan.
