Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Manor Solomon to decide on future after Ibiza holiday

Manor Solomon is on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur after an impressive loan spell at Fulham.

Here is the situation. He was allowed to leave Shakhtar Donetsk indefinitely due to the war in Ukraine, after which he joined Fulham on a season-long loan in the summer of 2022.

FIFA have now given unilateral power to the players in Ukraine to decide their futures. There is a possibility that he could leave Shakhtar a year before his current contract was scheduled to expire (2024).

The Ukrainian club have warned Spurs that they will take them to court if such a situation occurs. This seems like a complicated situation because obviously, Donetsk wouldn’t want to lose such an asset.

Solomon to Spurs?

According to the Evening Standard, the player is headed to Ibiza for a week-long holiday, after which he will decide his future. He was in fine form for Israel when he featured in his team’s 2-1 wins against Belarus and Andorra earlier this month in the 2024 UEFA Euros qualifiers.

It could be a drawn-out legal saga, but if Spurs believe they are within FIFA regulations, then there is absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t make a move to sign Solomon for free this summer.

He is a player slowly reaching his prime years who can offer good competition to the likes of Harry Kane, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Son Heung-min from the bench. Solomon, 23, has a bit of everything you need in a winger.

Solomon was one of Fulham’s best players last season. Tottenham would be an upgrade for him in every sense apart from perhaps playing time. But it’s not like his place in Israel’s XI would be under doubt because of it. We should be hopeful of our chances.
