PSG intent on triggering Xavi Simons buy-back clause amidst Tottenham interest

According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, PSG are interested in triggering the buy-back clause of Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Xavi Simons and want to take him back to Parc des Princes.

The 19-year-old dynamo, who left Paris Saint-Germain for PSV Eindhoven last summer, has become a subject of intense interest from various European powerhouses, including Tottenham Hotspur.

Fabrizio Romano revealed earlier this week that Tottenham had expressed their desire to stay informed about the Dutch prodigy. However, they are not alone in their pursuit, as the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Brighton, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig have also set their sights on Simons.

Interestingly, PSG still hold a buy-back clause for the young midfielder, which stands at a meagre €6m. It is an undeniable advantage for the Parisian giants, but the decision ultimately rests in the hands of Simons himself.

Simons’ meteoric rise in the Eredivisie has been nothing short of remarkable. Since making the switch to PSV Eindhoven, he has flourished, showcasing his immense talent on the pitch and catching the eye of Europe’s finest.

In just one season, Simons has notched up an impressive tally of 19 goals and provided nine assists in 34 league matches. Such stellar performances have also earned him five caps for the Netherlands national team, further solidifying his status as one of Dutch football’s most promising prospects.

Given his exceptional abilities, it is no wonder that Xavi Simons has garnered attention from clubs across Europe. Tottenham, known for their astute eye for talent and commitment to nurturing young players, are keen to bring the Dutch sensation to their ranks.

However, they face stiff competition from several other suitors. Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal, both with their rich histories and vast resources, are eager to secure Simons’ signature.
