Inter Milan considering Tottenham Hotspur veteran Hugo Lloris as a replacement for Manchester United-bound Andre Onana
Tottenham Hotspur shot-stopper Hugo Lloris is being considered by Inter Milan as a replacement for Manchester United-bound Andre Onana, according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews.
The Red Devils are interested in the Nerazzurri’s Cameroonian. To that end, the Serie A giants expect the Old Trafford side to offer €50 million for the 27-year-old in the coming weeks.
Guglielmo Vicario, who is set to join Spurs from Empoli, was an option for the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side to succeed the former Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper. However, now, the North London side’s captain is being eyed by Simone Inzaghi’s team.
Bayern Munich shot-stopper Yann Sommer is also on Inter’s radar. Paris Saint-Germain’s Keylor Navas, who spent the second half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest, has also been sounded out by the Nerazzurri.
Onana has been a key player for the Serie A giants since signing on a free transfer last summer. The Cameroonian was key as the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza Stadium side made it to the Champions League final last season.
The 27-year-old replaced long-time number-one Samir Handanovic at Inter. It remains to be seen whether Inzaghi’s team will sell a key cog like the former Ajax goalkeeper just a year after his arrival.
Tottenham acquired the services of Lloris in the summer of 2012 from Olympique Lyon. While the French national has been a loyal servant for us, over the years, his performances have deteriorated.
The 36-year-old is not the player he once was. Also, on the bench, we have Fraser Forster as our second-choice shot-stopper.
